Vacation notice
When a midwife is on-call 24/7, year round, it’s important to overshare a little. This transparency with Emily’s schedule is simply to set up healthy expectations about times she may need to use Telehealth, call in another midwife to support (rare), or when she will not be available to accept due dates. She runs this practice as the sole provider, so understanding when she has other commitments or schedule changes is important. Make sure you ask Emily any questions and understand how this may impact you before you commit to care.
July 7 - September 9, 2026
Emily takes some time off time during the summer every year. This is a predictable time that she sets aside for undisturbed time with her family. In-person visits with another provider in Emily’s office (for those who are further along in their pregnancies) and Telehealth visits (for everyone else) will be offered temporarily while she is away. This must be something you are comfortable with before beginning care with Emily. Emily will still be available to chat with you via EHR, can write any outpatient labs you may want or need, fax referrals for ultrasounds, etc. She just won’t be available for regular in-person care during this time. Please plan your conception accordingly.
She is also going to a Forest Frank concert with her son in Cincinnati on 7/27 and will be unavailable for several hours that evening.
Week of christmas 2026
If you are due for a visit during the week of Christmas, we will plan to do a Telehealth phone visit instead.
JANUARY - mid MARCH 2027
*avoid conception APRIL - end of JUNE of 2026* (If you want emily to be your midwife)
During this time frame, Emily will be strictly unable to accept due dates as she will be out of the country. These dates are firm. All surrounding due dates will be accepted cautiously after mutual discussion and thoughtful planning. Telehealth visits will be offered while she is away. In person visits with another provider will be offered for clients who are due in the Spring. This must be something you are comfortable with before beginning care with Emily. She will still be available to chat with and counsel you in the EHR, can write any outpatient labs you may want or need, fax referrals for ultrasounds, etc. She just will not be available for any in-person care during this time.
